Synopsis

Anthony « Tony » Manero is a 19-year-old Italian-American from the Bay Ridge neighbourhood of Brooklyn in New York City. His life revolves around a family who doesn’t understand him, an elder brother destined to be a priest and a boring job at a paint store. The stagnant monotony of his life is temporarily dispelled every Saturday night when Tony turns into the at the local disco club 2001 Odyssey. The young man agrees to be Annette’s partner in an upcoming dance contest, who is in love with him, but Tony is mesmerized by another woman at the club, Stephanie Mangano.
